Knowing the celebrities’ original names can probably tell why they decided to change it in the first place. Some don’t sound very nice, to the extent of being hilarious perhaps, while some sound too plain and unfashionable, or too difficult to read. In order to create a more unique, more impressive, easy-to-remember name for the sake of publicity, celebrities are often encouraged to change their names. Some names had only undergone minor changes in their sounds and tones, whereas some had drastic changes – even their surnames were changed or dropped. In some cases, the ‘more fashionable’ part of the name is retained. And of course some original names are good enough so there is no need to change. (Or maybe the celebrities are too proud of their names to change them)
