心机重还是直肠子好?

Hey guys, after the heated debate over the controversial issue of the weekends have pulled up abit of the viewership although not by a lot. Haha.
I see a lot of good arguments there. Thank you for participating.

Okay since the response is so good, decided to do controversial issue No. 2?
Not really like social issue or anything that important.
This issue is much more personal in a sense.

Okay so here goes the million dollar question or the question and answer session in the Miss Universe competition. Haha.
Would u rather be called 心机重 or 直肠子?
Alot of people without thinking will say of cos being called 直肠子 is better right?
Cos 心机重 has a lot of negativity attached to it while 直肠子often gives people the image of someone who is pure, honest and innocent.
Well, the other day i was watching 《康熙来了》, and they briefly touched on this matter. And i really had a different opinion after listening to what the two hosts have to say.
蔡康永 even said that in Shanghai when people call someone 直肠子 is actually meant to be a polite way of saying that the person is stupid. He goes on to give an analogy, in 三国演义 would you rather be 张飞 or 诸葛亮. In this case of cos many will say they will wanna be 诸葛亮 as opposed to 张飞 cos he is smarter. But when put into the context of this issue, 诸葛亮 is actually the 心机重 representative here while 张飞 is the 直肠子 representative.

Indeed, to be 心机重 actually requires a lot of wits and wisdom. 心机重 doesn't necessary equates to being evil or anything. In fact in difficult situation, having abit of 心机 do help you get out of certain situations and not spoiling your image at the same time.
A 直肠子 on the other hand when met by any difficult situation tends to often offend a lot of people and later when the harm is done will often use the excuse that he/she is a 直肠子 and expect people to forgive them. But often the harm is done and it will be more difficult to fix the relationship later on.

I also think the level of EQ is highly relevant here in the discussion of this issue.
A 心机重 person tends to have a higher EQ than 直肠子 people cos 直肠子 often just say what they wanna say.

So what are your views now after so much being said?
Would you rather be 心机重 or 直肠子?
Personally i wanna be more 心机重.
Felt like i too 直肠子 at times. Must work towards having a bit of 心机 and EQ. Haha. And it does makes sense lor, telling people they are 直肠子 does sounds like saying they are stupid. I wouldn't wanna be call that.
I rather be 心机重 that way. Haha.
