The 81st Oscar awards was held last Monday (local time).
And here are the winners of the various categories.
Best Picture - Slumdog Millionaire
Best Director - Danny Boyle / Slumdog Millionaire
Best Actor - Sean Penn / Milk
Best Actress - Kate Winslet / The Reader
Best Supporting Actor - Heath Ledger / The Dark Knight
Best Supporting Actress - Penelope Cruz / Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Congratulations to all winners. Apart from winning Best Picture and Best Director, Slumdog Millionaire received a total of 8 winning categories. Best foreign film is also awarded to a Japanese film so this time round, the Asians esp the Indians and Japanese really have something to celebrate.

Mediacorp artiste 苏智诚 is getting married. Congrats.
He and his wife will be having a wedding at the beach. So romantic. They also decided not to take any wedding photos. Both of them will continue working after the marriage. 苏智诚 doesn't want to have kids and his wife initially agreed to it. But she keep dropping hints to him, trying to influence him to change his mind. Haha. So will there be kids?? We will have to wait and see.

Speaking of kids, 赖怡伶 has recently announced that she is pregnant with her 2nd child. Congrats.

Very impressive results for 小娘惹. 2 spots in Best Actor and Best Actress. 4 spots in Best Supporting Actor and 5 spots for Best Supporting Actress!!!!!
This year is very special too. 陈莉萍 is nominated twice in Best Actress awards. While 李心钰 is also nominated twice in 最佳资讯节目主持人 award. Impressive!!!
Of course there are some 遗珠. I feel that these people should be nominated but they are not.
For instance, 洪乙心 in her character in 小娘惹 as 美玉. She should be nominated for Best Supporting Actress. 郑惠玉 should also be nominated in Best Actress with her role in 不凡的爱. I cannot understand the nominations for Best Theme Song also. Totally doesn't make sense. So many outstanding theme song this year how come the nominations come out like that. The 叮当神探 theme song is damn awful. Like that also can nominated. I personally think 变奏曲's 空缺 by 伍家辉 and 不凡的爱's theme song by 蔡淳佳 should be nominated. Abit kelong lar.

Besides impressive Star Awards nominations from 小娘惹 we have news that this show will soon be translated into English and will be shown on Channel 5. The Non-Chinese community can cheer out loud. Hurray. Also. It will be translated into Cantonese and be sold to Hong Kong's TVB. I heard it will also be shown in Vietnam, Cambodia etc. Next target is to have it shown in Taiwan and Mainland China. Jiayou!!!!

Okay today we take a break from the music industry and take a look at what is showing on TV now.
As Mango said recently, there are really a lot of good shows that will be showing. We are really spoilt for choice. Haha.

Taiwanese drama 愛就宅一起 is now airing on Channel U. Every Saturday at 9.30pm.
For your info, we are quite lucky wor. Cos Channel U is airing this drama at almost the same time as in Taiwan. The 3 main characters 汪东城, 杨丞琳 and 胡宇葳 has recently come to Singapore to promote this drama. Quite interesting wor the story.

An interesting drama about housewives and the problems they faced in their daily life. I believe this will definitely strike a bell within the housewives here. 煮妇的假期 is a drama u dun wanna miss. The story also quite interesting. These 3 housewives cannot take it anymore and decided to take a break. And also to protest. Haha. Take a look at this really interesting preview ba.

A light hearted drama. 煮妇的假期 starts 4th March on Channel 8, 9pm.

This next show has got Servbot and Mango excited.
And i was also excited while watching this 17 minutes trailer.
Alot of brilliant acting. U must watch this trailer at least. A lot of interesting story line also.
And Julian Hee is really shuai. Haha.
一切完美2 starts 4th March, 10pm at Channel U. Be sure to catch it.


Okay Mango is also crazy about this show recently.
射雕英雄传. 胡歌 and the guy acting as 杨康 is damn shuai. 林依晨 and the actress called 刘诗诗 who acts as 杨康's lover also very pretty. Computer effects also damn nice. Local artiste 郭亮 also acts in this show.
Mango even wanted to buy the dvd. 50 episode and its Dvd for $25 bucks. Damn cheap lor. Should buy. Haha. Then no need to rush home every weekend to watch can watch at your own pace plus got GST package mar. Wahaha.
