Hey, its been a while since we get together le. How is everyone doing?? Hope you guys still pop by here often to see whether got new updates coz i do come by here very often. By always no new updates. Haha

Okay, here is my 2nd literacy post. Hope u guys like it. This story i am proud to say is fully written by mi. Wahaha. So that's why take so long to write. Very hard to write this story u know. Intially already write until like 2 full pages but i was not satisfied with it. So i reduced the two pages to only one paragraph and then start writing all over again. I really really scared u guys can't accept the ending. Really. So i tried ways to make it more acceptable for u guys. Hope u guys like it. And pls give comments. Oh btw, I spent like almost a month to complete this story. Yup. Hope to see more stories from u guys too!!!

It was the first day of school, the first day of university, the first day of a new life and new chapter especially for Hongyu.

Hongyu isn’t always the popular guy u would find in any school sporting a very thick spectacles and messy hairstyle. In fact, his quiet and introvert character left him with really few friends. Hongyu was always the target of those popular and sporty guys who will find every single excuse and reason to disturb him and make life difficult for him. He was hoping that all these could change once he stepped into a new campus.

Well, the problem is getting around the new and really big campus. This “blurry” character of his soon got him lost and stuck in the middle of nowhere.

“Hrmm, I am sorry but could you tell mi where to find this place?” Hongyu points frantically on his destination situated at the map of the campus.

“Oh you are an Engineering student too? Hi, my name is Jacqueline, I am a first year too, pleased to meet you. I was looking for this place too” the girl he asked extends her hand and Hongyu shakes it.

Both of them also realizes that they were actually in the same class and soon, set of to the Engineering School.

During lunch, both Jacqueline and Hongyu got to know each other better. Jacqueline thinks that Hongyu would make a really good friend. Plus she admired his character and aspirations, on top of that she found him really interesting. It was then that the foundation of a friendship between Jacqueline and Hongyu starts to build up.

Over the next few months, both Hongyu and Jacqueline grew very close to Derrick, a tall, dark and some may even consider handsome guy who is also in their class. The three of them would be always seen together, sitting together during lectures and classes, gossiping together during lunch breaks or just simply loitering and lazing around the campus.

There were many rumours about this trio back then. There were those saying that Jacqueline and Derrick are in love. Or even those saying that Hongyu was secretly having a crush on Jacqueline. But the trio knows that whatever rumours or words that are meant to bring them down are never gonna succeed cause the friendship between this three is really strong.

It was the summer holidays. The three of them decided to rent a chalet near the beach. All three were very much excited about this trip and was really looking forward to it. Giving ideas and suggestions about what they are going to do enthusiastically.

The day had gone really well. The weather was good and everything went as they have planned. After running around and playing for almost a day, the three tired souls lay down on the fine and soft sand on the beach. The water was clam with occasional the breeze blowing on it. The skies were dark but they were illuminated with millions of stars. Three wishes was made that night. And two was about to come true.

Hongyu was making his way back to the beach carrying with him the food that was left over from the barbeque. He was hungry having being playing the whole day under the sun and he thought both Derrick and Jacqueline might need some food too. His steps grew slower and slower when he saw and heard what was going on ahead.

“Jacqueline, I have fallen in love with you since a long time ago and I hope you would accept my love for you,” Derrick then reach out into his pocket to retrieve a small box and open it.

Jacqueline smiled when she saw the sparkling and dazzling ring in the box. It was not an expensive one but a truly beautiful one. She was so moved and touched that she held Derrick deeply in her arms.

Hongyu who was watching this scene from afar suddenly felt a surge of jealousy running through his body.

Things were really strange after the three came back from the summer vacation. Hongyu would always decline Jacqueline and Derrick’s invitation to go out together. In school, he would always use the excuse that he is studying in the library for upcoming exams to avoid being with the two of them. These kind of scenario went on for a few months.

Jacqueline and Derrick were walking back home together after school. While crossing the road, Jacqueline dropped something. She tried bending down to pick up her stuff when a pair of arms shoved her away.

Hongyu rushed frantically to the hospital upon hearing the news that both Jacqueline and Derrick were met with an accident. Though he had been avoiding the both of them for the past few months, he keep on praying. He do not want to lose both his best friends to a car accident.

Hongyu went around the corridor and halted went he saw Jacqueline crying outside the emergency room. Thank God, Jacqueline is alright. But why is she crying?

“Hey, what exactly happened? Are you ok? Where is Derrick?”

“He is inside!” Jacqueline said sobbing and pointing to the emergency room.

Before Hongyu has the time to think about what was going on, the door to the emergency room opened.

“He is alive. But in a coma right now, it is had to predict and tell when he will be awake.”

A few years later, Hongyu and Jacqueline were dressed in black and white. They were at Derrick’s funeral. Derrick had managed to survive for three years but in that three years, he was in a coma. The doctors told his family that the chance of him being awake again is very slim. They suggested that they let him go. His parents were really reluctant at that time, but the medical expenses and the cost of operating the life-saving machine was too high. They were left with no choice.

“It was my fault. If it weren't for me, Derrick would not have ended up dying. He saved his life for me!” Jacqueline sobbed. The trauma and guilt that she had gone through these few years had made her really pale. There is almost nothing that Hongyu could say or do.

Hongyu was really lost. He did not know what else to say. He took out a music cd from his bag and past it to Jacqueline.

“I do not know what else to say. I could only give you this song and the lyrics in it are the words that I want to tell you. I hope u will understand them.”

It was then Jacqueline realized that she should be grateful of the love that Derrick has given her.
