+台湾的眷村+

Hi hi~ Ok, the following things that I wana introduce to you, may not be relevant to you. Perhaps you wont find it interesting, or you dun really care about it. But well.. maybe we can know about it. There are so many interesting things in this world to know about. :)

If you watch Taiwan variety shows, you will sometimes hear this word called 眷村. What does this really mean? Coz I am reading a Taiwan writer's book, so I wanted to know the background of this story.

In China's modern history, we know that there are two political forces: The communist party and the guo min dang. And at a point of time, the communist party actually won, and came into power. So the military party thus shifted to Taiwan, and lived there continuously for 50years and more, never going back again. When these military members, including all sorts of ranks, plus soldiers as well, came to Taiwan, they were allocated at this area, which is known as 眷村 now. This is a really interesting place because it consists of ppl from different parts of China. It's sorta like S'pore, where diff dialect groups of ppl settle here. But the difference is probably this is a village scale, and the interaction with each other is very different, more close, like a huge group of family.

It is a very very touching history to me, and I respect such a history, for it is e documentation of real people. Common people, and not about what is going on at the top. And most importantly, I like 王伟忠, when he talks, there's this 威严 that makes ppl respect and listen. Ok, and here's the documentary he made, to talk about 眷村。 Enjoy :)

I really like the whole atmosphere of Taiwan, especially the rural places. Even though I've never been there before. 很有抒情的、 感性的精神和味道。Hope to visit this beautiful country one day! 新加坡需要多一点这种抒情色彩。还是,我忽略了呢?hehe..

Thats all for now! :)
