Well, over these 9 days overseas, i have been penning down my thoughts and busy taking photos so i will be blogging about my trip journal style and here goes....
Day 1
I just got ready for my trip for my trip to Yunan, China. I will also be taking my first everplane flight. Will be going there by China Eastern Airlines.
My feelings,
Excited? Not really cos i am not going to a place that i really want to go. Just really hoping that there is a good place to do shopping.
Scared? Abit lar. Cos dunno how the flight is like. How are those people going on the same tour group as us going to be like. Issit all Aunties and Uncles or what. Also scared never bring anything. And plus dunno what to expect there and whether i will be able to adapt there.
Just finished styling my hair, packed my last item and zipped up my luggage and i am ready to head of to Changi Airport.
We took a Maxi cab to the Airport. Those big eight seater kind like this
It was quite a pleasant ride.
Here is all the luggage we took to the airport.
The China Eastern Airline airplane is really not that nice.
My mum said it is almost like a budget airline. A far cry from our Singapore Airlines. So hoping that i will be able to sit on a Singapore Airline plane soon.
See the space is so small and limited.
Barely had any space for my legs although they are not that long.
I think those tall people sit sure very jialat one.
And there is not TV also. Lousy.
So the whole 4 hour journey is very sian lor.
Nothing to do but sleep.
After 4 hours of airplane ride (so tiring), we finally reached Kuming International Airport.
For those we dunno, Kuming is in Yunan. Just like Changi is in Singapore like that.

As i stepped out of the aircraft, i found that the weather here is quite cooling. Like natural air conditional. We then met our tour guide and she brought us to a restaurant for breakfast.
Along the road, i really amazed by the difference between the road in Yunan and Singapore.
There a lot of bicycles along the road and i mean a lot.
Some of them drive very dangerously. Scary one lor.
Lucky our driver is good.
After breakfast, we met our camera man.
He is quite young, 25 like that, around the same age as our tour guide.
And he gave all of us roses.
Haha.
1st time in my life, someone gave me flowers.
I didn't receive any flowers before, not even Valentine's Day and what nots. Haha.
Then we travelled for 2 hours plus to check in to our hotel.
The Shilin Conference Center Hotel.
We rested for awhile then headed down to our first attraction.
石林. 石 as in 石头 and 林 as in 森林.
So its a rock forest.
And the amazing thing is that the rocks in this place are all natural rocks. Not man made.
There is so much rocks here as this place was initially submerged under water but to a volcano eruption many many years ago, and many other natural factors, the water has disappeared and the land has rise. And all these rocks are those rocks that are laid under the sea. Really 天造奇迹.

The top portion of this piece of rock is suppose to be an eagle with a broken wing.

天下弟一奇迹, this are the words craved on this stone. Did u notice a word that is written wrongly?
Ans: The 弟 should be written as 第.
Well, it was written as 天下弟一奇迹 because they wanna be humble. So they call themselves the younger brother. Got it?
Very beautiful right? Notice the piece of rock that has 剑锋 written on it.
Well, it was supposed to look like a sword. But years ago, an earthquake occurred here many years ago and the top part of the sword was broken due to the earthquake leaving the bottom portion.
So u can see how, natural all these rocks are. Not touched by man, and not fixed by man even when they are damaged by earthquakes.
This piece of rock is like rotten and about to fall off like that right?
Well, this is called 良心石, it was said that if someone evil were to pass by this piece of rock. The rock will tumble and fall onto that person.
Looks like a piece of tooth right?
It was said that if u touch this piece of "tooth", all ur gum and tooth diseases will be cured!!

We went back to the hotel later. To rest.

Reflection & Thoughts:
Our tour group consists of people above the age of 40 years old other than my brother and me.
All uncles and aunties.
So boring.
I can't be myself while traveling. Cannot do those things and say those things that i normally do with my friends. Have to act and fake. So difficult. Machiam traveling alone. Sian lor.
