Entertainment News

This is Zhui Xing Entertainment News bringing to you the latest and hottest news in the entertainment industry.

Hey this week it will be ME, Saturn Servbot, writing the entertainment news. Jupiter has come down with a flu today, and he needs plenty of rest for the 大工程 planned on the following day. First time Jupiter is unable to write E-news due to fatigue hor? It has always been reasons like studying for exam etc.

This is 3rd or 4th time as E-news substitute writer. So continue to give me support k?

Credits to xinmsn for the news stories.

Selina from SHE plans to discard her old wedding photos (taken before the incident) and retake a new one next month. She cited the reason as '认为当时的照片已不适合现在使用', and she wishes to begin a new record on her life with the new wedding pictures.

Meanwhile the filming of the drama 《我和春天有个约会》 will recommence soon. The director remains the same. The male lead, who was injured with Selina, has recovered and will take on the same role. However, Selina's role will be replaced by a 18 year-old singer from China 陆翊. She is said to resemble Selina at certain angles. (Really? You can see her picture in this article link: http://entertainment.xin.msn.com/zh/celebrity/buzz/asia/article.aspx?cp-documentid=5101604)

You see this actor acting as policeman/CID in countless dramas. How about seeing him 自弹自唱 on a guitar?

Yup he's Tay Ping Hui, and he will be performing in a musical 《记得说再见》 where he gets to display both his acting and musical skills. Musical skills?! You may ask. Actually it has been his childhood dream to become a rock star. He has been learning guitar since secondary school, enjoys rock music and has always been exposed to music all these while. He used to be a lead singer cum manager in his university hall band. However he mainly deals with English songs.

Tay Ping Hui's singing ability was recognised by the producer of 《记得说再见》 during the year-end countdown party, where he sang 彩虹 by 动力火车. This is not his first performance though. Unknown to most people, he had performed in a concert before, 自弹自唱 alongside other veteran singers like 庾澄庆 and 伍佰.

In the musical, Tay will be casted along with local artistes such as

Jupiter's Special

This week we will introduce another debut album from an upcoming young singer. This time it's local. Do you still remember him?

Shawn Tok 卓轩正 was still pretty kiddy then, but he sang well. Some years later his voice broke. Now, 5 years after the competition, at 18 years-old, he could finally release his very first album. When I first heard this song over the radio, I couldn't tell it was him.
This is is album

The songs in the album are mainly produced by 迷路兵. As you can listen, he longer has the high-pitched little-boy voice that he once wow-ed the audience with.
This is the second hit, 相思病. Got a news report in the middle of the song haha.

Let's hear his ballads for a change:

Uh, maybe he's more suited to singing more fast-paced, upbeat songs haha.

Bonus Track(s):

This song has stirred quite a bit of commotion recently among the music entertainment scene. It has been blasted and criticised by many, who couldn't stand the style of this song, especially the sharp, nasal, in-your-face, ear-piercing voice, right from the very start.

Though this song may be annoying, it gets stuck in your head quickly and easily. A few more listens and I doubt you can erase the melody off your mind.

Not only the voice, melody and lyrics, even the MV itself looks kind of silly. What is 刘子千 trying to achieve here? Let's 'enjoy' this controversial song 念你 by 刘子千. (So many dislikes lol)

This kind of weird song often comes with several spoofs. This is one of the funny ones, with a terrible voice too...note the edited lyrics.

Another spoof in Hokkien:

Ok that's for all this week. Jupiter will return next week.

Joker

Once again, comments on SG by a PRC student has sparked widespread outrage.

From: http://news.omy.sg/News/Local+News/Story/OMYStory201107261520-262736.html

SG's multicultural society and language abilities is a target of criticism here. You can watch the video and judge by yourself.

I believe the challenge here is to catch what he's actually blabbering about (and tolerating his hideous makeup and extremely annoying accent). Here are the 'subtitles', provided by a user in Youtube.

*Sorry for the wall of text, but this is how he speaks in the video too*

Other problems highlighted include the aircon issue, which I quite agree upon. Most are just a matter of cultural difference.

If they are so unhappy here, why come here to study in the first place? Sigh...

(Must be $$$, what else?)

Xinmsn reports:
Apart from revealing that her father is always late for program shoots, Bowie also let on that she had recently dined with her 'rival' Dee Hsu. Bowie had previously dated Dee's ex-boyfriend, Taiwanese host Mickey Huang.

A few days ago, when Eric went on Dee Hsu's variety programme, he said that their family was not allowed to mention Dee's name -- not even the letter 'S' (Dee is also known as 'Xiao S') - when his daughter was dating Mickey Huang.

Commenting on that, Bowie said, "I was a little angry when I saw the report, but I know he did it to add punch to the show."

She added that Dee texted her after that.

Bowie also surprised the media when she said that she had recently dined with Dee. When the media probed further, the host said that it was not the right time to talk about the issue and would clarify the matter another time.

Jupiter's Special
Its time to welcome new voices into the music industry!!!!
First time i heard her name i taught its a guy.
Today we will be featuring 阿福 or 邓福如's debut album.

First up is 未填词.
Definitely not a commericalized singer.
This is the impression i get after listening to this song.
Very nice song in fact.
Very edgy, new age kinda genre and definitely a fresh voice to our industry.

This is a beautiful song.
I love it a lot.
阿福 sang it beautifully too.
All the high notes and all sang beautifully.

青春洋溢 but not overly act cute kinda song.
This is 一点点喜欢.

This next video is a must watch.
It was this video that shot her to fame and got a recording contract.
The number of youtube views stands at 5 million!!!
Equivalent to Kpop idols music video.
This is 阿福's version of Nothing on You sang originally by Bruno Mars.

Bonus Track:
Miss Mango feedback to me this week commenting on why i did not feature the NDP song this year.
So well, here is it!!!
This is the NDP 2011 theme song, In a Heartbeat by Sylvia Ratonel, the runner up for the third season of Singapore Idol.
The theme song is not the fun pack song hor. Haha. Although i must admit the fun pack song is now more popular that this theme song.
The reason on why i feature the theme song so late is that i find this song quite weak. Yup, it is nice but i find it missing on something.
In my opinion, the quality of NDP theme song is like dropping over the years. The last decent one was 晴空万里 by 蔡淳佳. And mind you only the Chinese version is nice. English version so so only.
We really need to boost the quality of the theme song as its really an important aspect of the celebration. Makes people look forward to the actual parade. An essential marketing tool if you ask me.
We need better songs and more iconic Singaporean superstar to sing the theme song next year!!!
In the meanwhile, let's just try to enjoy this song ba.
And yes that familiar face you see in that MV is 欧菁仙.

I am proud to say that my faculty ranks quite high also at No. 15.
Its the first in Asia and the second outside of US and UK.
Yay!!! For your information, NTU ranks at No. 44 while SMU is at the 151th to 200th region.

So I'm a little KPO and curious, went to check out the ranking for my fellow zhui xing members' faculty.

Servbot's Chemical Engineering course at NUS: 10th
Reiko's Chinese Studies at NUS (i assumed its ranked under Modern Languages): 18th
Mango's Chinese Studies at NTU (i assumed its ranked under Modern Languages): 51st to 100th Region
Not sure Chinese Studies should be ranked under modern languages or linguistics though. If it's under linguistics, Reiko's would be 15th while Mango's would be still be in the 51st to 100th region.

Hope you guys find this piece of information interesting. :)

Cheers,

Love,
Reiko

Entertainment News

This is Zhui Xing Entertainment News bringing to you the latest and hottest news in the entertainment industry.

This week's news is all on local singers.
孙燕姿 recently visited Taiwan with her husband on a short honeymoon trip.
Xinmsn reports:
Local singer Stefanie Sun and her newly-wed husband Nadim van der Ros visited Taiwan over the weekend for a short honeymoon trip.

According to the Taiwan media, upon arriving in Taiwan on Saturday evening, the couple headed for dinner with Stefanie's friends before attending a star-studded party at Saya Chang's A★Bar.

After a good night's sleep, on Sunday, staff and friends from Stefanie's recording company took the couple to Jiufen, a renowned tourist destination in Taiwan, before proceeding to a shop famous for their spicy hotpot.

However, the group had to settle for a steamboat dinner instead as the shop was packed with customers.

After dinner, the group headed to a night market, where Stefanie readily greeted fans whenever she was approached.

The singer then took her husband for a foot massage session after their night market trip.

The next morning, Stefanie took Nadim to try the famous braised pork at Ximending, before heading to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.

During a dinner gathering with Stefanie's recording company, when Nadim proudly showed the pictures they took during their tour, the singer's colleagues teased her for acting like a tourist despite having been in Taiwan for so long.

The singer sighed, saying, "That's because I have never really toured Taiwan!"

Just before the couple left the hotel at 4pm to catch their 6pm flight back to Singapore, they managed to check out the fantastic view at the famous Taipei101.

林俊杰 is also busy receiving awards and being the best man in his brother's wedding.
Xinmsn reports:
Over the weekend, at the 16th Annual COMPASS Awards, local singer JJ Lin beat Stefanie Sun and Tanya Chua to win the "Best Local Singer" title for the fourth consecutive year.

However, due to his brother's wedding, for the first time, the singer was unable to attend the awards ceremony.

The annual COMPASS Awards is an event to recognize the hard work local musicians had put in over the past year, and a total of 16 awards were presented this year.

The "Best Local Singer" award, which was based on the total royalty fees earned by the nominated singers for the songs they sing, saw JJ coming in first.

JJ also bagged the "Best Local Lyricist" award that night, an award based on the most royalty earnings the nominated lyricists had earned in the past year.

Despite his absence, in a video that JJ had prepared beforehand, the singer apologized to the audience saying, "This is the first time I am unable to attend the awards ceremony, as I have an important wedding to attend. It is my brother's wedding, which is more than just a friend's wedding. It is also my first time being the best man."

In the video, JJ also thanked COMPASS for the award, and mentioned that this will serve as a constant reminder for him to continue working hard, creating breakthroughs and producing even more great music, as this is his calling.

According to the Taiwanese media, the total income for JJ last year was a whopping NT$200 million (about S$8.7 million).

The all-rounder has a total of three houses and two sports cars under his name, in both Taiwan and Singapore. The singer's fashion label has also taken flight, and he is planning to expand his business to Taipei, following the branches in Singapore and Shanghai.

Jupiter's Special
Today we are going to feature 王心凌's latest album 《黏黏黏黏》.
It has been a really long time since she stepped foot into Singapore.
Not sure if it is due to the really bad impression she gave the press here years ago when she was here.
But strangely her drama series is always aired here on Channel U and always 同步首播 with Taiwan. First is 《桃花小妹》 then comes 《美乐加油》.
My question is can she still sustain using this cutesy cutesy image even as she approaches 30 years of age?

First up is 黏黏黏黏.
The lyrics and the melody to this song is penned by 王心凌 herself.
I personally think this song is not bad. Quite nice to listen to.
But i think it is quite a wrong strategy to use this as the first 主打.
It sort of limit herself back to this cutesy genre.
And this song is very dangerous in a sense that a lot of people will be quite 反感 with it cos they will think that she is acting cute.
Well, you listen to this song and judge for yourself ba.
Lollipop F's 敖犬 appeared in this MV too.

I like this second song.
In fact, this should be the route and genre that she should be going.
This is 爱太空.
Enjoy.

Haiz. Another "act cute" song.
Im not saying this song not nice.
But she not tired meh keep singing this kinda song.
I will be really interested if she sing something with attitude like Elva or Jolin someday.
This is 想你想你.

Next song not bad la.
Quite soothing.
Collaboration with 罗志祥 brings a lot of pleasant surprise as well.
This is 陪我到最后.

A song from 《美乐加油》.
Very nice song.
Quite a big song but think she handled it well.

Out of all the songs this is the song i like the best.
The main theme song for 《美乐加油》.
Simple, melodic but not plain.
Surprised to see that her voice range is actually quite wide.
Cos the front part quite low but chorus quite high.
This is 不哭.
Weird that they never promote this song.

Bonus Track:
A few weeks ago we introduce you to 张惠妹's latest album.
This album recently just 改版.
And in the new 改版 song there is this new song that i think is super nice as well.
So nice that i think i must introduce to you guys.
Written by 苏打绿's 青峰, this is 你和我的时光.

That's all today.

The Final

In this commencement/convocation season, such articles will pop up again.

From Straits Times Jul 9, 2011
Cherishing the last year of varsity life
The freedom an undergrad enjoys will be a sweet memory in working life
By Ian Poh

THEY say one does not know what one has until it is almost gone.

I am talking about undergraduate life - usually signed off each July with happy scenes that involve the tossing of funny-shaped hats.

The working life that follows is something to be looked forward to, but now being just a year away from that new phase of life is making me appreciate college life a lot more than I ever did.

For starters, there is the weight of expectations - and the consequences of falling short of them.

At work, I would expect to be entrusted with enduring responsibilities that only increase were I to start scaling the corporate ladder.

And if I fluff my lines badly, I expect someone to notice, the mistake to go on my record, and my hopes of quick promotion and end-of-year bonus utterly dashed. My boss would lose faith in me.

Just this past semester I submitted a term paper I had a very bad feeling about.

It came back with an A+, but would have made little difference coming back with a C- as far as others were concerned. I was accountable only to myself. Any disappointment would have been my own to bear.

Second, as a student I can lead a lazy lifestyle that could never happen in most respectable jobs.

Working life imposes an inescapable structure on your life - you are meant to be on the job between a certain start and end time each day, and any periods of absence need to be justified.

Similar rules are in place in the form of class timetables to regulate an undergraduate's comings and goings, but at the end of the day, he can decide on a whim whether or not to keep to them.

The consequence of skipping school? Perhaps the need for more intense mugging, to make up for lost time. Also possibly a headache from falling asleep in a bad posture. Best of all, the grades do not necessarily have to suffer. Most of us, myself included, know this from experience.

But the consequence of skipping work without first declaring it on a leave schedule - it's a short walk to not being wanted back. Not to mention a sure way to make yourself unpopular with your colleagues.

The reason for this difference?

The gap in responsibility between being a student and a worker.

As most Singaporean males would have experienced first-hand at some point during national service, mistakes bring suffering upon colleagues. The consequences are felt almost immediately, because sheaves of paper with your name on it end up in the in-trays of colleagues.

The bottom line is simply that if I skipped as many work days on a whim as I have lectures, I would be out of a job long before the end of the third year - a milestone I have already passed in college.

With colleagues counting on me to do my work well and on time, I dare not let them down. It is one thing to hurt oneself, but a far worse thing to hurt others when they do not deserve it.

It is undeniable that responsibility is more than just a virtuous way to behave. Responsible behaviour is not easy to display consistently, but it is a requirement for survival in adult life. Unfortunately.

For now, though, I shall enjoy having nothing to do with it for the final year of undergraduate life that remains.

And some years down the road, I intend to further my studies.

Not simply for the sake of improving my qualifications, but also to relive what I am about to leave behind.

---

Early this year I featured a similar article. This time I decided to do the same, in order to constantly remind myself that I should cherish my days in University.

It can be pretty scary how fast time flies. I was introducing myself to other university students when I said 'Year 3...going to Year 4 soon'. Hey wait, year 4? Final year? Gosh! I'm Year 4 already! I feel so old compared to those who are waiting to enter uni.

In education the levels are clearly identified by numbers (eg primary 3, secondary 2, etc) so you can keep track how fast time flies (and how old you're getting). But in work there is no such distinction, so 5 or 10 years can pass without you feeling much.

Although this phrase 'cherish your university years' has been said to death, I still have no idea in how to do it. I still mug a lot during school term, putting my focus in academics rather than school-related activities. While friends are participating in camps, getting involved in volunteer work, contributing to CCA organizations etc, I'm still standing my ground in prioritizing my studies. At least in JC, though short, I had fond memories in my CCA activities. But in uni, there is nothing much to reminisce, other than academic matters.

If someone were to ask me, 'What is your best memory in university life', I wouldn't know how to answer it...

The only thing I know is, I'm trying to make full use of university holidays to travel overseas. This is what made me decide to go Europe. 'If I don't go now, I probably won't have the chance to go later, and enjoy myself as much.' I'm actually hoping to go for a summer exchange someday, but I guess I won't have much of a chance anymore. The final summer is already gone.

This is Zhui Xing Entertainment News bringing to you the latest and hottest news in the entertainment industry.

苏打绿's 青峰 is recently involved in a text message scandal.
Xinmsn reports:
Steamy text messages between an unknown man and Wu Tsing-Fung, lead singer of Taiwanese pop group Sodagreen, were circulated on the Internet, but the singer's manager expressed that it could be a prank.

According to a Hong Kong magazine, a lost phone containing more than 30 steamy text messages between Tsing-Fung and the phone's owner was found at a night club on June 29.

The messages contain sexually explicit content such as, "Haven't you thought it through before wanting to come by? Why don't we just go all the way?"

It was believed that the phone's owner had sent even more explicit messages to Tsing-Fung, with the singer finally replying with, "Let's play by ear. We should start with hugging and kissing, since it would be too awkward to just head for the showers directly."

When contacted, the owner of the phone was shocked but admitted that the person in the text messages was Tsing-Fung.

The man added saying that they have never met, but have exchanged text messages and shared video calls with the singer.

In response to the news, the singer's manager confirmed that the number belongs to the singer, but mentioned that it was only for Tsing-Fung's personal use.

The manager too said that it could be a prank, as Tsing-Fung had left his phone with a friend since his father passed away in June.

Is 林俊杰 dating again?
Xinmsn reports:
Are they just friends or more than that?

After his break up with model girlfriend Lillian Chen in March, JJ Lin, 30, has reportedly taken a liking to one of Taiwan's most beautiful host Weng Tzymann, and they have been seeing each another secretly for the past three months.

On July 3, the pair was photographed leaving a KTV together, but in response to this, both emphasised that they are just friends and that they were not alone that evening.

JJ and Tzymann were believed to have met at the 2010 Most Searched Award when they were invited to be the presenters for the ceremony.

The pair reportedly hit off and had exchanged contact numbers then.

Ever since JJ broke up with Lilian in March, the two began hanging out more often, and in April, they were seen going to the movies together in Taipei.

However, both denied the allegations and emphasised that they are just friends.

Jupiter's Special
Okay guys, this week it is really really back to Mandopop.
Last year's Jupiter Award 最佳新人 has recently released his second album.
Today we will be featuring 严爵's second album 《不孤独》.

First up is 好的事情.
I guess our Reiko will be very familiar with this song already cos its one of the theme songs for 《醉后决定爱上你》.
The music video's story is actually a little sad. Must watch and listen to the lyrics of the song.
Some background of the song by youtube:
《好的事情》是嚴爵有感於近年全球各地發生了許多天災,在日本大海嘯隔天、在專輯交出母帶最後一刻寫出《好的事情》這首歌,嚴爵認為相信《好的事情》就會替世界帶來《好的事情》,所以也希望這首歌能夠伴隨更多溫暖的力量,為這個世界帶來許多《好的事情》。

严爵的新尝试.
A little bit of new age kinda song.
If u just listen to the music you might mistaken it as an English song.
Very Western feel to it. A little like Cold Play kinda song I think. Haha.

These are two people that i cannot imagine collaborating together.
And yet they did and sang this duet together.
Will there be sparks and chemistry between these guys?

I actually like this next song alot.
Stripped of all the gimmicks and just back to basics with only the guitar and his voice.
Very simple yet very warm kinda song.
This is 没有你怎么办.

I like this song also.
I think he sing best when it is just him and the guitar.
Last song of the day.
Hope you like it as much as i do.
This is 悲观乐观.

That's all this week.

The Ideal Prey

Another horror story happening at a tourist hotspot.

From: http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story/OMYStory201107070404-257913.html

Bali

Overseas trips can become a nightmare if you aren't careful, or simply down in luck. Sometimes it does pay off staying in the more recognized and authorized hotels or resorts, though it might be a bit more pricey. With so many accommodations in tourist hotspots like Bali, there are bound to be some dubious ones, trying to prey on unwary/unfamiliar tourists.

Then again, most tourists just wish to relax and enjoy the experience, without being so uptight about security all the time. This is what makes tourists an ideal target for thieves. Hence the bottomline is, be cautious always and don't let your guard down, even in cozy hotel rooms. Locks can be pried open, keyholes can be picked, doors can be opened by the master key.

The report hints a possibility of the complimentary drink being doped. That's a really scary tactic. If the entire hotel staff is targeting you, it seems like there is nothing much you can do eh?

Outing Report by XianHao

Gosh. I guess it has been a long time since I have written an outing report.
The last one was like what .... 3 years ago? Or something like that?

This time have to fulfill my forfeit of losing the Citadels card game that we played last week during our boardgames session.
Wah, I last place lor. Such a once in a blue moon thingy. Cos the last place is usually occupied YOU KNOW WHO. Cannot say name one, if not like Voldemort like that will haunt you. Very scary.
Aniway, Im not really last place last place. It was a fight between me and Servbot. And Reiko has to decide who to give the last place to. In the end, she chose your truly. Arrgh!!!

So that day we had a hearty brunch at Strictly Pancakes.
Frankly speaking, Im not really a pancake kinda person. So i guess i can't really appreciate the art of pancakes but the meal was reasonably nice. The bacons and saugages were awesome.
After finishing our meal, we went to play boardgames. Shan't reveal the location cos we are there "illegally". Haha.

First game -- Citadels.
Not a bad game.
But this game i guess a lot of planning, guessing and strategising. And even after all that, it is not a guarantee that you will win the game.
Which explains why the very smart me ended up in the last position with the uber smart JR.
I guess an explanation of me ending up in that position is that someone very jealous of my smartness keep stealing my money and killing my characters. Arrgh.

After Citadels, Ms Mango have to leave to go for a concert. Free tickets again lor. So good.
There after we started playing our second game -- Munchkins.
Very complicated game wor. I guess you must be familiar with the game to enjoy the fun of it. We gradually get bored with it and shifted back to Citadels.
This time round i got second place lor. Damn, why we didn't organize forfeit for this round.
We should have something like dance to SNSD song at the premises. Haha.

After playing for awhile, quite hungry already and we decided to walk over to cityhall to enjoy NYNY. This time round we were offered candy floss. Wah so nice lor.
After dinner of course must HTHT la.
But this time HTHT not shiok enough.
Relf, you haven't seen and experienced the maximum potential of HTHT. Hope you get to enjoy the full spectrum for HTHT soon. Haha.

Since. im already blogging might as well blog about yesterday as well.
Yesterday was really fun too.
Thanks to deal.com.sg, we managed to treat ourselves to a buffet dinner at Holiday Inn at only half the cost.
I think for half the cost, the food there are quite decent.
I wouldn't say it is really nice but it is not bad la.
The lamp chop, the satay, the salmon and the ice cream are all not bad.
But the usually very glutton Mango quite picky this time. Her facial expression got this sian and disappointed look after she tried the food. Guess must be from the lunch buffet she had earlier that day. Haha.
But for half the price, i think its not bad la.
The environment and the view also not bad. (We got the window seat).
But i agree with the rest on the fact that i would not pay the full price for that buffet.

After eating its back to HTHT.
After warming up abit, the topic finally gets more and more exciting.
We chatted until forget the time and before we knew it we were the only ones still left at the place. We left shortly after realizing that and decided to continue our chat at the hotel lobby.
Very lucky to have found the comfy sofa.
All i can say is, the chat makes me look forward to the Zhui Xing Overseas Trip this Dec.
Im sure it will be a blast!!!

Time always flies when you are enjoying.
Really nice to have found this bunch of people whom i can chat so comfortably with!!!
Love you guys!!!

Signing off,
Xian Hao

Update Updates Updates on 谢霆锋 and 张柏芝's relationship.
From Xinmsn:
Cecilia Cheung's act of entrusting sons Lucas and Quintus to her makeup artist friend Rick Chin, was reportedly the factor that pushed Nicholas Tse to speed up the divorce procedures.

Yesterday, it was rumoured that Nicholas had delivered the signed divorce papers to Cecilia, and
as soon as the actress sign the papers, their five-year marriage will come to an end.

Nicholas has also reportedly demanded through his lawyers, that Cecilia send their children back to the Tse residence when he returns to Hong Kong next month.

Nicholas is believed to be fighting for custody of their children as he is unhappy with the way Cecilia brings up their children.

If the actor gets custody, it is most likely that he will leave the boys under the care of his mother Deborah Li, while he cuts down on his workload to spend more time with them.

Cecilia, on the other hand, is said to be extremely unhappy with Nicholas's recent admittance of his failing marriage. The actress has reportedly decided to go head to head with Nicholas for custody of their children after she wraps up her shoot for The Lion Roars 2.

Meanwhile, Cecilia's manager has dismissed rumours that the actress is pregnant with her third child. The manager also expressed that she will not respond to any other questions about the couple, and that every decision that Cecilia makes will depend on what Nicholas does first.

Coincidentally this person in the new piece of news was also recently innocently dragged into the whole 谢霆锋 and 张柏芝 drama when 张柏芝 said that only 王菲 will understand her and that she is smart enough to get out of the relationship quickly.
Well, the 王菲's new im reporting is a concert in Singapore, which to Mango's surprise and appall is running out quickly.
Xinmsn reports:
Many groaned, when it was first announced that a VIP ticket to Chinese songbird Faye Wong's concert would cost as much as $580. However, the hefty price tag did not deter diehard fans of the singer from snapping up the tickets.

Running Into The Sun (RITS), organiser of the Faye Wong 2011 Concert Tour Singapore, confirmed that VIP tickets, worth $580 each, were sold out within the first few hours on the first day of priority sale.

The priority sale, exclusively for M1 customers and all OCBC card holders only, kicked off at 10am this morning through ticketing agent SISTIC. By noon, VIP tickets were completely out of stock.

Category 5, 6 (worth $220 each) and 7 (worth $120) seats were also snapped up two hours later. At press time, 90% of Category 4 seats (worth $280) were sold, leaving only single seats.

Approximately 5,000 tickets are available for sale, with more than 60% of the tickets priced at $280 and below, making Singapore the second most competitively-priced concert leg on Faye's Asian tour after Hong Kong. There are a total of seven categories, with ticket prices beginning at $120.

This October 29, get ready to be wowed by the combination of a top Hong Kong music band with an international sound and lighting team, which includes famed Taiwanese director Muh Chan, Wong Kar Wai's visuals, lighting by Japanese renowned designer Mitsumasa Hayashi and Faye herself.

Jupiter's Special
After 2 weeks of KPop, shall we get back to some Mandopop??
Or is it really Mandopop that i will be featuring today?

Super Junior M had a long stay in Taiwan to do promotion for their latest album.
This time round after 韩庚's departure, Super Junior M added two more members who are from the original Super Junior group.

Today let's listen to their songs in their latest album.
First song of cos must 来点动感的.
This is 太完美. I dunno if purposely anot cos 太完美 sounds like 台湾美 to me. And their pronunciation not very good one. Haha.

I dunno this time round they only release one music video.
I think this next song here is also quite nice.
Shows off the individual members' vocals.
This is video here is fanmade. But i think it was quite nicely done.
Can take a look.
This is 幸福微甜.

I like this song also.
Heard it on 933 and i think it is quite soothing to the ear.

Seeing the Light in Technology

It has been 5 years since I entered BMT, and so much has changed since then. Change of attire, change of shoes, introduction of laptop, and now...ipad.

From: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_684461.html

The SAF soldier's latest weapon - the iPad

FROM November, recruits doing Basic Military Training (BMT) will be armed with one more 'weapon' - a handheld touchscreen device such as an iPad - to sharpen their fighting skills.

Responding to queries from The Straits Times, the Defence Ministry said the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) plans to issue about 8,000 sets, including to every recruit in the BMT Centre and those in other institutes such as the Officer Cadet School and the Specialist Cadet School, as well as to servicemen in the air force and naval training schools.

---

I'm sure many NSmen will lament how BMT has gotten more slack over the years, and how recruits are so pampered and becoming physically and mentally weak. The recent cases of sudden deaths during a run/jog as well as the fieldpack-carrying saga serves to prove their point even more. Now the poor NSFs have become a common target for Stompers, who will try all means to capture their un-graciousness, laziness and misbehaviour, then put the pictures up online and blast away with endless rants and complaints.

Returning to the article, even the army has to keep up with technology nowadays, like schools and workplace. The key is how to implement such improvements without compromising training. The laptops and ipads may be used as educational purposes, but I bet many recruits will attempt to install games/apps for entertainment haha.

Some people raised the question if the ipad will be used in outfield exercises. I think it's quite convenient. Like google maps, soldiers can use the ipad for topography. No need for maps and compasses! But if the ipad ends up in mud, or with a cracked screen, that's their own business...

Other than the army, ipad can be really useful in schools too. Not sure if any schools have implemented ipad as a teaching tool. If every student has an ipad it would be even better. Some time ago I read about how students can input their answers into a tablet PC in response to a teacher's question during class. This is suggested because students are usually shy in speaking up and are afraid in making mistakes in front of their classmates. By using such input method, not only every student can have a chance to answer the question, their responses can be 'privacy-protected'.
